General Information:
What are Dali Wall Decals?
Dali Decals are an inexpensive and innovative way to transform any room! Wall decals are like large self adhesive designs that adhere to the wall and are created in the design and color of your choice! They are simple to install and take less time than painting. They are also removable so that when you are ready to transform your room again, all you have to do is peel them off!  Top
How easy is it to install Dali Wall Decals?

Dali Decals come with installation instructions as well as a squeegee for application. Our step-by-step instructions are easy to follow and have received rave reviews! If you want to view our step by step installation instructions before your purchase, you can always check them out here.

Please note: Some of our larger decals come in sections that will seamlessly overlap during installation. Decals that are larger in size are easier to install with the help of a friend. You can also check out our installation videos through the following link: Wall Decal Installation Videos  Top

How easy is it to remove Dali Wall Decals?
Dali Decals are easy to remove! Simply start at one corner, roll them down at an angle and gently peel off the wall. Some touch ups may be required, depending on the age or condition of the painted surface underneath as well as the type of material used for your decals.  Top

How are Dali Wall Decals made?

I just painted my walls. How long should I wait before applying my new decals?
Our vinyl manufacturer recommends that freshly painted surfaces be allowed to dry for 2 weeks before applying decals. This allows ample time for the surface to completely dry, thus allowing the decals to stick properly! Top
I have Low VOC or No VOC paint, and/or paint with stainblockers on my walls. Will Dali Wall Decals work?
Unfortunately, Dali Wall Decals (and almost ALL other types of self adhesive wall decals by other companies) will not adhere to walls that are painted with Low or No VOC paints, especially paint that has stainblockers in it. Please check your paint before ordering decals to make sure that you don't have Low or Zero VOC paint. We think it should go without saying, but paint with stainblockers will almost certainly not work, as the purpose of stainblockers in paint is to prevent things from sticking to walls... including decals.

If you have Low VOC, Zero VOC or VOC Free paint, or paint with stainblockers on your walls, we highly recommend ordering test decals first, as we cannot issue refunds for decals as a result of incompatible paint.  Top

What is the difference between a Cut Decal and a Printed Decal?

A Cut Decal is a design cut out from one of our 80+ colors which you can view from our color chart. We have gloss, matte and specialty colors to choose from. If you purchase a multiple-color cut decal, you will receive each color in separate sheets.

A Printed Decal is when a full color design is printed directly onto our white material. It can then be cut out or trimmed to size, depending on your specific graphics. This option is best for full color designs or illustrations with many colors as they can be printed all at once on our white material. Our current Printed Decals can be viewed here. Top

I have textured walls, will Dali Wall Decals work on textured surfaces?

Dali Decals will work on certain types of textured walls. If you have knockdown or orange peel-type textures, we encourage you to order a test decal sample pack first to test the area you wish to apply the decals to. Certain types of textured paint, such as paint with a sandy or gritty component, will prevent Dali Decals from sticking. If you have regular sheet rock or drywall surface, our decals should adhere just fine!

For our Cut Decals we recommend our gloss colors for textured surfaces, as our gloss has a stronger adhesive that will stick better.

If you are ever unsure of your surface, we strongly suggest that you order test decals first. Samples are available here. Top

I want to order samples, which sample pack is right for me?

Each sample pack has a different purpose and contains a detailed description for their purpose.

-The Color Sample Pack includes a set of 5 color swatches and is meant to sample the colors you're interested in for Cut Decals. You may order more than one set of color swatches to decide which colors are right for you.
-The Complete Color Sample Pack includes all of our Cut Decal colors.
-The Test Decal Sample Pack includes randomly chosen decals for you to test the adhesive on your desired surface. Each pack includes a sample of both matte and gloss Cut Decals.
-The Custom Printed Sample Pack (by request only) includes a sample of removable as well as a sample of permanent vinyl material available for custom printed decals.
-The Printed Test Decal Sample Pack includes a sample of our unlaminated matte removable printed decal material for you to test the adhesive on your desired surface.
-The Modern Mosaic Sample Pack is useful if you're trying to decide on what color combination you would like, and whether you would like a matte or gloss laminate finish. Top

How long can I store Dali Wall Decals before I need to use them?
We recommend that you use and/or apply your Dali Wall Decals within 90 days of receiving them. If you choose to store them past 90 days, we are unable to guarantee the life of the adhesive, and we cannot honor any exchanges or returns past that time frame. Top
Can I reuse Dali Wall Decals after I take them off the wall?
Dali Decals are not reusable, but because we use the highest quality vinyl available they might still retain their 'stickiness' once removed. However, because the material is very thin, the decals do not retain their shape or design once removed from the surface. Top

Can I install Dali Decals when it's cold outside??
Dali Decals are happiest when installed in warmer temperatures, and it is recommended by our vinyl manufacturer that they are installed between temperatures of 50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Decals will not easily stick to their intended surfaces at temperatures lower than 46 degrees, and this is especially important to note for outdoor installations during the colder months. Top

What file types does Dali Wall Decals accept when uploading images and graphics?
Dali Decals accepts the following file formats for your images and graphics: .jpg, .gif, .tif, .pdf, .ai, .eps and .psd. If you have any questions about uploading your image or graphics, please contact Dali Decals toll free at 1-877-769-3254 or email info@dalidecals.com. Top
Cut Decals
What is a Cut Decal and how are they made?
A Cut Decal is a design cut out from one of our 80+ colors which you can view from our color chart. The designs are literally cut out from solid colored rolls of vinyl. The excess material is then peeled away, leaving behind your design. We then apply transfer tape over your decal. If you purchase a multiple color Cut Decal, you will receive each color on a separate sheet. Top
What is the difference between Matte and Gloss?
Our Gloss vinyl has a shiny finish and has a stronger adhesive than the Matte, while our Matte vinyl has a light sheen to it with a flat finish. There are 36 colors available in Gloss and 48 colors available in Matte. Top
Are Cut Decals safe for apartments and dorm room walls? What about dance floors?
Yes! We recommend our matte vinyl for apartments, dorm rooms, and dance floors as long as it's a smooth and flat surface. Our matte vinyl is great for weddings, receptions, parties, bar/bat mitzvahs etc., as they are intended for easier removal and shorter term applications. However, matte colors will stay applied to the surface until you are ready to peel them off, even for longer term applications! Top
Will Cut Decals damage my walls? Will I need to repaint after I take them down?

Cut Decals simply peel off when you're ready to change the look of your space! However, our gloss colors have a stronger adhesive than our matte colors, and some touch ups to the paint may be required after removal of your decals. If you are concerned about the paint underneath your decal being damaged during removal, we recommend using our matte colors, as they are intended for easier removal and shorter term applications, such as weddings, events, or use in dorms or apartments. However, our matte colors are strong enough to stay up for as long as you want them to.

Please note: As all surfaces may vary, Dali Decals cannot guarantee the condition of your walls and cannot be responsible for any paint loss or damage caused upon removal. Top

I have textured walls, will a Cut Decal work on textured walls?

For our Cut Decals, we recommend our gloss colors for textured walls, as our gloss colors have a stronger adhesive that will stick and conform better to those types of surfaces.

Please note: If you have any texture on your wall, the decal may not be able to lay completely flat over the bumps and into the nooks of your surface. The texture may be visible through the decal and there is the possibility of air bubbles within the texture.

If you are ever unsure, we strongly suggest that you order test decals first. Samples are available here. Top

I want to buy samples before buying Cut Decals, which one is right for me?
The Color Sample Pack includes a set of 5 color swatches and is meant to sample the colors you're interested in for Cut Decals. You may order more than one set of color swatches to decide which colors are right for you. The Complete Color Sample Pack includes all of our Cut Decal colors. The Test Decal Sample Pack includes randomly chosen decals for you to test the adhesive on your desired surface. Each pack includes a sample of both matte and gloss Cut Decals. Top
Will Cut Decals work on glass or on my car? How about in my bathroom?

Dali Decals are actually safe for outdoor use! We use high quality outdoor-rated vinyl for our decals. Our matte colors are rated for up to 3 years of outdoor use, while our gloss colors are rated for up to 6 years! Our decals are ideal for signs, businesses, trailers, storefronts, etc and we recommend using our gloss colors for these applications, as they will last longer.

Dali Decals are safe for bathroom use too! They can be easily applied to mirrors, tiles, or acrylic shower walls. If you would like to apply Dali Decals on a drywall surface in your bathroom, make sure the surface is completely dry before installation, or the decals will not stick. Due to the moisture content in bathrooms, we recommend gloss colors for bathroom applications. Top

I can't find what I'm looking for, can you create a custom design for me?
Absolutely! We'd love to help you with your custom decal! Whether you need us to create a custom designed decal or have a design in mind already, we can definitely help you with your request! Printed Decals
What is a Printed Decal and how are they made?
A Printed Decal is a design that is printed directly onto our white vinyl and then cut out. The excess material is then peeled away, leaving behind your design. After the design has been printed and cut, we apply transfer tape over your decal for application purposes. Our current Printed Decals can be viewed here. Top
I have textured walls, will a Printed Decal work on textured surfaces?
As all textured surfaces may vary, we recommend that you order a Printed Test Decal Sample Pack to make sure that the material will work on your textured surface. That way, you can test out the product before placing your order. You can find the Printed Test Decal Sample Pack here. If this material does not work for you, please contact us for other options that may be available for your textured surface. Please note: If you have any texture on your wall, the decal may not be able to lay completely flat over the bumps and into the nooks of your surface. The texture may be visible through the decal and there is the possibility of air bubbles within the texture. Top

Custom Printed Decals
What is the difference between Custom Printed Decals and the Printed Decal Designs section?
Both Custom Printed Decals and the Printed Decal Designs are produced in the same way. The difference is that our Printed Decal Designs section is filled with designs created by us that are readily available for purchase. If you have a photo or graphic that you want made into a decal, just go the the Custom Printed Decals section and upload your image or graphic. You can find that here. Top
Why do I need to fill out all these details before uploading my image?
By filling in these details, we will be able to produce your custom decal in the material that is appropriate for where you plan to install them. If you're unsure of how to fill out the fields provided, simply enter your custom requests in the Customer Notes section at the bottom of the checkout page, or contact us at info@dalidecals.com. Top
Which finish should I choose?

Our stock printed decals come on a 6 mil vinyl perfect for indoor use. Made specifically for wall decals, this material is easy to apply and remove when you want to replace it with something new!

When you select a finish for your Custom Printed Decals, we actually add on a layer of lamination, which offers extra protection. Our matte lamination will have a flat finish, while our gloss lamination has a shiny finish. Regardless of which you choose, both will provide the same amount of protection for your graphics. Top

What is "Contour Cut"?
If you want a part of a photograph cut out (such as a pet or a person) or if you have a graphic and don't want to include the background, you should select "Cut Out Subject" when ordering. If you select the "Do Not Cut" option, we will create your decal in the shape that you provided it in. You will be able to give detailed instructions in the Customer Notes section located at the bottom of the checkout page. Top
How do I select the right size/dimensions?
The preview of your uploaded image does not reflect the dimensions you select. It is important to try to select dimensions proportionate to your image. If your image is horizontal, the width should be larger than the height. If your image is vertical, the height should be larger than the width. If you want your image to be cropped into a square, your width and height should be the same measurement. If an order is placed where the dimensions are not proportionate, we will make every effort to contact you for clarification before producing your graphics. If you still need help with the dimensions, please feel free to contact us at info@dalidecals.com Top
Can I use an image/logo/design that I find on the internet for my custom order?
Unfortunately, using other people's images, logos and/or designs that you find on the internet without their permission violates copyright/trademark laws and we will not be able reproduce them into decals. We need permission in writing from the original owner/creator of the work in order to create it. Top
Do I keep the rights to a custom design that Dali Decals makes for me?
For all custom designs that are created by Dali Decals, Dali Decals reserves all rights to the artwork, including being able to use the design as a product available for sale to everyone. Top

Modern Mosaics
What are Modern Mosaics and how are they made?
Modern Mosaics are an innovative way to get the look of tile in your home, without the mess, hassle and expense of real tile. We have many different color combinations available in square, pencil, vertical and small vertical tile shapes. Modern Mosaics are printed directly onto the same white vinyl that we use for our Custom Printed Decals. Modern Mosaics are also laminated for protection, longer lasting color, and to give you the option of a matte or gloss finish. Our current Modern Mosaics shapes and color combination options can be viewed here. Top
Are the tiles depicted in the Modern Mosaics raised/3 dimensional?
Since Modern Mosaics are printed on the same vinyl as our Custom Printed Decals, they are flat and are not raised or 3-dimensional. Modern Mosaics are simply meant to simulate the look of real tile. Top
Can I buy samples before buying a Modern Mosaics product?
The Modern Mosaics Sample Pack is useful if you're trying to decide on what color combination you like, which material (permanent or removable) and whether you would like a matte or gloss finish. It is $5 for 2 samples and $1.75 for each additional sample. Purchase your samples through the following link here. Top

Custom Printed Canvas
What do I do if I have a physical print of my image, but not a digital copy that I can upload to your site?
The best way to submit an actual photo to us for printing is by scanning your physical print either with your own scanner, or take it to your local photo lab and have them scan it for you. Make sure that the image and scanner surface are clean and free of smudges, dust and/or dirt, as this will show through on your image scan. Scanning your image at the highest resolution that your scanner will allow will help to ensure the highest quality possible for your final Custom Printed Canvas. Once it is in a digital format, simply upload the image during the checkout process. Top
What should I know about image resolution/size when taking my picture and uploading it to Dali Wall Decals?

To make sure you are getting the best looking Custom Printed Canvas, upload your image at the highest resolution possible, or at a minimum of 150 dpi at the final print size that you are ordering.

Pictures taken with a cell phone typically will not work well when ordering a Custom Printed Canvas, as they will be too small in size and resolution, however, newer phones and/or smartphones with higher megapixel cameras may work just fine.

When using your digital camera to take a picture that you want made into a Custom Printed Canvas, please change the camera's settings to the highest quality picture possible and make sure the camera is steady and stable when taking the picture. Top

What are the options for sizes and dimensions for the Custom Printed Canvas?
The stretcher bars that Dali Decals uses to make Custom Printed Canvases come in set sizes. Stretcher bars are wooden bars, which, when connected, make up the frame of your canvas. The sizes available are 11", 12", 14", 16", 18", 20", 22", 24", 28", 30", 32". You may use a combination of any two of these stretcher bar sizes to make up the width & height of your Custom Printed Canvas. Simply make your selection for the width and height when checking out. Top
How do I select the right size/dimensions for my Custom Printed Canvas?
It is important to try to select dimensions proportionate to your image. If your image is horizontal, the width should be larger than the height. If your image is vertical, the height should be larger than the width. If you want your image to be cropped into a square, your width and height should be the same measurement. The preview of your uploaded image does not reflect the dimensions you have selected. If an order is placed where the dimensions are not proportionate, we will make every effort to contact you for clarification before producing your Custom Printed Canvas. Top
Which frame thickness option should I choose for my Custom Printed Canvas?
Dali Decals offers two different frame depth options for you to choose from. We recommend the thinner .75" frame thickness if you plan on putting your canvas in your own decorative frame before hanging it. The thicker 1.5" frame thickness will look great for canvases that you plan to hang as they are, without adding your own decorative frame. Of course the thinner .75" frame thickness will look great even if you do not plan to add a decorative frame. Top
What are my options for the outside edge of my Custom Printed Canvas?
Dali Decals offers three different options for the outside edge of your Custom Printed Canvas. You can choose to have either a black or a white outside edge, as well as have your image wrap all the way around, which is called our image wrap option. Be mindful of how your image is cropped when selecting the image wrap option, as important parts of your image that you want on the front face of your canvas might end up wrapping around the edge. Top
What guidelines should I follow for the thin .75" Image Wrap option for my Custom Printed Canvas?
When selecting the image wrap option for the .75" frame thickness your image needs to be 1.5" larger on each side, or 3" larger for both dimensions (width and height). For example, if you are ordering a 16" x 24" canvas, your digital image should be 19" x 27" when it is submitted. The additional 3" on the top, bottom and sides will end up wrapping around the frame. Top
What guidelines should I follow for the thick 1.5" Image Wrap option for my Custom Printed Canvas?
When selecting the image wrap option for the 1.5" frame thickness your image needs to be 2.5" larger on each side, or 5" larger for both dimensions (width and height). For example, if you are ordering a 16" x 24" canvas, your digital image should be 21" x 29" when it is submitted. The additional 5" on the top, bottom and sides will end up wrapping around the frame. Top
Can I have my full color image converted to a sepia tone or black & white photo effect for my Custom Printed Canvas?
When you are checking out, you will have the option to select either sepia tone or black & white. All you need to do is upload your image as it is, and we will convert your image based on your selection. Top
What file types does Dali Wall Decals accept when uploading images and graphics?

However, if you place your order with Rush Processing at 3pm EST on Wednesday for your printed products, they will go out on Friday, which is 2 business days later, as there is a 24 hour cure time that needs to be accounted for.

Rush Processing is optional and can be found on the checkout page.

Please note: Rush Processing does not mean expedited delivery and does not affect delivery time. If you need expedited shipping, it is also available at checkout under the shipping methods option.

Are there any customs fees or taxes I have to pay on my International shipment?
As each country is different in regards to imported products, there are different standards for customs fees, duties and taxes on goods. Because of this, the buyer is solely responsible for any fees associated with their package. This includes duties, taxes, customs fees, tariffs, etc. Dali Decals will not mark any items as a Gift for international delivery, and will disclose the full value of each package shipped, unless it is something that we are re-sending to you. For more information, contact your local Post Office for your country's specific policies.  Top
